Waiting for the Sun

by Karl and Gail Hourigan

I took my love across the sea, so we could see life differently
Stopped the clocks we rode the trains, and we came back again

Leaning to the left, we’re pulled to the right, trying to push with all our might
Green socks walking around the hill, but it’s looking like a landfill

And we’re waiting for the sun to shine, peeking out behind the clouds
I want to feel the heat again, waiting for the sun to shine

It might heat up, it might cool down, we might be better off underground
Rains are coming and it’s going to flood, but we’re up to here in mud

A generation’s come and gone, where’s the will to carry on
We’ve got the facts, the science is done, we’re blocking out the sun

And I’m waiting for the sun to shine, peeking out behind the clouds
I want to feel the heat again, waiting for the sun to shine
