We're All Home for Christmas

by Karl and Gail Hourigan

The mist lay on the water
and ice hung off the mast
as we sailed into the harbour
safe and sound at last

we walked up to the high street
just as the church bells rang
the whole town came to greet us
and all the children sang

we’re all home for Christmas, there’s no better place to be
than with the ones I love and the ones who so love me

It seems like such a long time
since I first sailed away
I knew that I would miss you
but I missed you more each day

I’ll face the storms and perils
that every life must know
‘cause in my heart you’re with me
everywhere I go

we’re all home for Christmas, there’s no better place to be
than with the ones I love and the ones who so love me

The mist lay on the water
and ice hung off the mast
as we sailed into the harbour
safe and sound at last

we’re all home for Christmas, it’s been a long hard year
and we’re all home for Christmas, delighted to be here
and we’re all home for Christmas, there’s no better place to be
than with the ones I love and the ones who so love me
